The discovery of new seeds increased the yield of Agriculture.  All this would be impossible without science. Science has a lion's share in human development.

As science progressed, Industrialization increased and the Environment began to deteriorate. Mahatma Gandhi said in a statement that "Nature provides man with a full stomach, only man should satisfy his hunger." As science progressed, so did man's appetite. He cut down trees and built roads and houses. Killed animals for their own selfish ends, causing environmental degradation. So how does this science benefit?

As the saying goes, "as much as a person is inclined", the curse of science depends on everyone's point of view. The bottom line is that science can only be a boon if it is used properly.
