Annabhau Sathe , Tukaram Bhaurao Sathe, also known as Anna Bhau Sathe, was a writer, poet, and social reformer from Maharashtra, India. he was born on 1st August1920 in the village of Vategaon in Walve taluka of Sangli district in the Matang community. His father's name was Bhaurao Siddhoji Sathe and his mother's name was Valubai. his younger brother Shankar and sister Jaibai. His family was uneducated and suffered a lot. his Childhood was nomad, moving from one village to another village.

Tukaram was his given name on the day of his birth.. Like Saint Tukaram, Tukaram became a great literary man. Became a miracle in the field of literature. In the past, Jijamata narrated the stories of Ramayana-Mahabharata to Shivba(Shivaji Maharaj). same like that Theoretically, Valubai taught the stories of Veer Sattu, Piraji etc. to small Tukaram(Annabhau).

He wrote Novels, Songs in Marathi language like "Mazi Maina gava kade Rahili “माझी मैना गावाकड ऱ्हांयली, "माझ्या जीवाची होतीया काह्यली Mazya Jivachi hotiya Kahili and "Fakira"‘फकीरा’, "Warnecha Wagh" ‘वारणेचा वाघ’, "Makadi Chi Mal"‘ माकडी ची माळ and "Master" ‘ मास्तर’ .
Annabhau was born in the Matang community, Not much educated but his Novels are very Popular. Anna, a militant man involved in the literary freedom movement, raised the issue of social change through his writings. He raised rural, downtrodden, and helpless people in his own Shahiri unique style Writing. Annabhau has written seven film stories, Songs and also wrote Marathi Lavanya.

Music became a means for Anna Bhau to not just understand but also to assert, to battle against caste and capitalism, as he had little formal education but a great deal of skill. He was most likely the first shahir to reveal the cause of persecution in Mumbai's wealthy areas. He writes in his book 'Mumbai chi Lawani': "Mumbai Unchawari! Malabar Hills, Indrapuri"मुंबई उंचावरी! मलबार हिल्स, इंद्रपुरी Kuberachi Vasti Tithe Sukh Bhogati! Paralat Rahnare!कुबेराची वस्ती तीथे सुख भोगती ! परलत राहनारे! Ratnndiwas Rabnare! Milel Te Khaun Gham Galati!रत्नदिवस राबनारे! मिलेल ते खाऊं गम गलाती!
Annabhau, who depicted people battling for their life, created a word picture of Mumbai. he convinced the majority of people, urging them to view Mumbai to be a part of Maharashtra. "Mumbai nagri badibanka, jashi ravana lanka vajatoy danka chauhumulukhi"“मुंबई नगरी बडीबांका,जशी रावणाची लंका वाजतोय डंका चौहुमुलुखी”
Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar used to say, "Marxism will solve the problem of bread, but the question of living as a human being remains and I love respect and self-respect more than bread." Annabhau was overwhelmed by this thought. his self-esteem began to show its existence through the characters he created. Annabhau hated mainly two things ,One is the exploitation of the poor people by the riches and the religious, social exploitation of the untouchables. Annabhau's writing was constantly attacking on this matter.
The State Government also issued a collection of his works under the Title Lokshahir Selected works of Annabhau Sathe. He died on 18th July 1969.
