Rani Rampal is the Captain of the Indian Women Hockey Team and an Inspiration for many girls . Rani was born on the 4th of December 1994 in Shahabad Markanda, Haryana's Kurukshetra district. In her 13-year International career, 26-year-old Rani has risen from humble beginnings to become a legendary figure in Indian hockey. Rani made her India debut at the age of 14 in an Olympic qualifier in Kazan, Russia, in 2008.

Rani Rampal shared her amazing and inspiring story she shared how she started playing hockey simply to escape her difficult life and would play with a broken stick one to begin with. She said, “I wanted an escape from my life; from the electricity shortages to the mosquitoes buzzing in our ear, from barely having two meals to seeing our home getting flooded. Her father worked as a cart puller.

 Rani's financial situation was quite unstable. Rani was not able to afford an alarm clock. In order to overcome this, her mom would look at the stars and wake her up at 4:00 or 4:30 am so that she could go to practice hockey. At the academy, it was mandatory for each player to bring 500 ml of milk. her family could only afford milk worth 200 ml, so she would pour the water into the milk and take it away.

 She had a strong desire to play hockey since she was a child and pleaded her parents to allow her to do so. Unfortunately, her parents originally refused. but Despite the odds, she persisted in playing. She didn't care what other people thought of her. By the age of six, she was a member of the town's squad. Her abilities were initially questioned, but she eventually displayed her promise to her instructor. In 2003, she began playing field hockey and trained at the Shahabad Hockey Academy under Baldev Singh, a Dronacharya Award winner. Mr. Baldev, Rani Rampal's coach, was very rigorous. Her coach gave her a hockey kit and paid attention to her diet food after watching her dedication and perseverance in playing hockey. She also did not miss a single day of hockey practice. Rani, on the other hand, started to improve with the help of her coach. When she was 15, she played in her first senior World Cup and scored seven goals for India, winning her the title of 'Young Player of the Tournament.'

She competed in Junior Nationals in Gwalior and Schools Nationals in Chandigarh before being selected into the National squad. Go Sports Foundation, a sports Non-Governmental organization, provided her with monetary and non-monetary help as she began to play professionally, since her family struggled to financially support her goals. Rani was completely focused on her goal of becoming a good hockey player.

 She took command of the captaincy and guided the team to victory in the Asia Cup for the first time in 13 years. At the age of 15, she was the youngest player on the National hockey team when it competed in the 2010 World Cup. She is a forward player for her squad and has scored 118 goals in 241 international matches. as a striker who frequently plays in the midfield Rani is a striker who frequently doubles as a midfielder and is regarded as one of the best female hockey players in the world. In 2014, she and her team won a bronze medal at the Asian Games in Incheon. In 2016, In 2018, Rani performed as captain of the Indian women's hockey team at the Asian Games. where they won a silver medal. She employed for the Sports Authority of India as an assistant coach.

Rani Rampal was awarded the esteemed Arjuna Award. The Indian Government honoured her with the Padma Shri award in 2020. India advanced to the semifinals of the Tokyo Olympics after upsetting world No. 2 Australia by a solitary goal. It was the Team's greatest performance ever. Although we all know, the women's hockey team accomplished an outstanding job in 2021 under Rani's captaincy, reaching the semifinals. Girls in Rani's village now look up to her as a role model and have begun to play hockey and pursue sports as a career. Captain Rani displayed remarkable personal traits. She is a dedicated and industrious individual.

Her efforts to better show that she is a source of inspiration for many people, including myself, who want to show the world that girls have power. Her losses are even regarded as pleasant occurrences by her. Let us all follow in her footsteps and aspire to be the best we can be in life.
